Yippeeee... Daddy's here!

18th April 2008

At around 9.30 pm, there was a knock on the door, followed by a familiar voice... At that time I was about to go to sleep with mummy in the bedroom... Is it daddy? Can it be true? We know that daddy is coming sometime this week, but daddy won't tell us the exact day! So I ran downstairs and opened the door... Yippeeee! It's really daddy!

It has been a long time since we see daddy, more than a month! Although we always keep in touch via the webcam and the phone, but that was never enough... The big hug with daddy was really something that I have been longing for...

At our request, daddy managed to bring some stuff over from Brunei... Daddy told us that he had to pay for the excess baggage but it's definitely worth it because all the stuff, especially food items, came through the Australian quarantine check without hassle. Thanks daddy!

Here are pictures of the stuff that daddy brought:

Canned food... I love the halal corned beef the most!

These are local sun-dried seafood. Since they are commercially packed and properly labelled, it was not taken away by the customs at the airport.

Nini bini was very pleased with this one... Last time in February, our 'asam kulit' was thrown away since it was not commercially packed. This time, daddy managed to find the same product that has been properly packed. In case you are wondering, we put this in our local cuisine to add that sweet-sour taste.

Uncooked crackers... Very yummy when fried.

Some local delicacies. From top left: Brunei style spiced cashew nuts, Kuripit, Penganan Cincin, Steamed fruit cake and Sasagun.

Daddy also managed to bring nini laki's supply of health supplement food.

Treats for Safiya and I! Ohh, daddy wrongly brought the 'Nutella' spread, forgetting that we can get it here in Australia! Anyway, thanks daddy...

Some Asian delicacies... Yummy!

Daddy bought this heater in Holland last year, so rather than just kept in storage back home in Brunei, daddy brought it here for the cold nights.

Mummy's law books.

Safiya accidentally broke mummy's glasses last week. Since mummy had spare in Brunei, mummy decided to wait until daddy comes with the new ones... Poor mummy, this past week she has been wearing her broken glasses, fixed temporarily with cello-tape... I am so proud of you mummy!
