Getting to know the crows

18th April 2008

Since the first day we arrived in Brisbane, we notice that there are lots of crows flying low in the local area where we are staying. Everyday we can hear the crows squawk, they sometimes frighten my sister, Safiya.

Today in the afternoon, while relaxing outside and enjoying the cool breeze, nini laki decided that it's about time we get a closer glimpse at the crows since they seem to be very close to home. Back in Brunei, the opportunity of getting a closer look at these birds are very rare. For sure this new experience is a must, and mummy did take some pictures...

The search begins... Where are they?

We used some bread to lure the crows... Well, most of it were eaten by us! Good thing none of the birds dared to eat the bread off our tiny hands!

Finally we spotted some crows resting on a pole close to our house.

They took the 'bait'! At least three birds came down from the pole.

"Hello there, mate!"

Just look at how close they came for the bread!

Another bird also tried to join in, but the crows must have frightened it away...
