"International day" at our home

03 October 2008 (Part II)

After the Friday prayers, we stayed home because we are hosting yet another Hari Raya open house. However, this time we're inviting a few guests from different countries. Mummy's friends Nanai from Papua New Guinea and Sharmel from Sri Lanka came with their hubbies (plus a friend from the Torres Straits Island), and we also invited our Indonesian neighbours; Aisyah and her parents.

The initial plan was to invite my teachers as well, but the plan didn't go through because mummy received information that Miss B was not in town... Ohhh... I'm sure Miss B and Mrs. Miller would have loved it!

Our menu...? Nini bini's delicious satay goreng with peanut sauce, added by the usual condiments; nasi impit (as a substitute for ketupat), cut bread pieces, and slices of cucumbers, onions, tomatoes and chilli. Yummmy!!! Even our guests all had seconds! Mummy's friend Nanai had to make sure that nini bini does not open a restaurant back home, because the food will definitely be a hit if she does!

Oh well, I know that some family members in Brunei had been complaining because they are not able to taste nini bini's cooking this year (sorry guys!!).. but looking at the positive side, at least this year folks from Brisbane get this once in a lifetime opportunity. Right?

Anyway... enjoy these pics!
