EID MUBARAK!

1st October 2008 (Part II)

So... for the first time in our lives (that is, four years for me and almost two years for Safiya!), we celebrate Hari Raya or Eid outside Brunei. This is the first for mummy, nini laki and nini bini as well. Homesick? Maybe a little bit, but the experience turns out to be memorable and with lots of excitement too.

Lots of guests turned up for our open house on this first day of raya, and the house was filled with joy with all of our fellow Bruneians and some Malaysians celebrating the festive season together under one roof! Thanks to everybody who came!

To all our beloved family members and friends from Brunei, we're sorry for not being around this year (especially to Machar & family, Bungsu Ajim, Nini Green & the whole family, Nini Belait & family, Wawa Jufri & family, Ngangah & family and Bungsu Diana & hubby).. Anyway, enjoy these pics!

Hehehe... Posing for the camera while waiting for guests to arrive.. waiting and eating!

Then our Bruneian guests start to arrive... And there were lots of them... Yipeee!!!

And they enjoyed our buffet menu... Nasi Minyak, Daging Masak Kismis, Ayam Masak Merah, Paceri Nenas, Acar & Kek Sarang and Monthong Durian Cake for dessert

Again... more pictures.. By the way, the cute baby below is Ryan

Hmmm... What's this? Same fabric for Raya? Hehehe... Good thing it's in different colours!

Random pictures with the guests...

We also took group pictures.. (Mat P Hensem has pretty pictures too)

And it's time for them to leave (so sad)...

But not for long... Some Malaysian guests came not long afterwards...

Taking a five minutes break...

Then, mummy's friends from Kelvin Grove came, with their children.. Yippeee, at last, friends to play with!

Wow... that was tiring! Nap time...

So that's our story on the first day of Raya in Brisbane
Hope everyone enjoys this festive season like we do! Selamat Hari Raya!
