Butter prawn

14th July 2008

Eversince we were still in Brisbane, daddy has promised us that he will cook Butter Prawn. With all the activities and quite a busy schedule in the weekends, the promise is close to being unfulfilled. Thankfully, tomorrow is a public holiday in celebration of His Majesty's royal birthday, and so daddy could spare his time preparing the dish that has been long awaited for.

And... being nice as I am (hehehe...), I'm letting daddy share the recipe with you. Fans of this dish might notice that the egg is not crispy as can be found in restaurants .. frankly, the egg-frying part is an expertise that daddy is yet to master. But I can tell you for sure.. it's YUMMMY! Hehehe... thanks daddy, we love you!

Some of the ingredients.

First step.. Coat the prawns (skin on) with corn flour, chilli powder, curry powder and salt.

Fry the prawns in butterfat (minyak sapi). Set aside.

Next.. mix some eggs with curry leaves, chilli powder, oats, shredded coconut, sugar and salt.

Fry the eggs until crispy. Like I said, it should actually look like crispy threads, but what daddy has produced is perfectly fine. Then, stir in the fried prawns.

The end product... Yummy!

By the way, any of you who have tips on how to produce the perfect egg threads, share them in the chatbox.. Thanks!
