Maintaining the front yard

23rd March 2008

Today, nini laki did some yard maintenance in front of the house. Well, all the trees and plants were already there when we arrived, but unfortunately some of them had been outgrowing the yard with some tree branches almost reaching the house. Some plants were drying up as well.

Nini laki busy at work.

(Below) The tree branches nearly touching the house walls.

At the university, mummy was informed about some species of poisonous creatures like snakes and spiders; another reason for maintaining the yard so as to prevent any creature from coming too close to the house.

After finishing the great job (with a little help from mummy as well), the front yard looks better. Actually, we only realized that we have the garden pavement stones after clearing up the yard; it has been buried under all the dried leaves all this while. We hope that the clearer environment will promote growth of new leaves and branches so that the garden will look fresher.

Now our front yard has a clearer and fresher look.
Safiya is also enjoying it!

Later on, I helped nini bini with the preparation for lunch. I learned about how to clean and prepare some snow peas. Good for me!
